The nice thing about being slap bang in the middle of the Eurasian plate is that mother nature tends not to deal us that many natural disasters. Going to somewhere like Iceland tends to ram home the point about the earth being a living thing—occasionally capable of throwing a wobbly. As this shot from space shows, now would be a good time to get the hell out of Sicily. Fortunately, I had not made plans to go there—I don’t think there’s any geothermal activity in France, is there?
