People keep asking me for my views on Big Brother. This more or less covers it: a BBC news story from two years ago. I quote from the meta tags of the story: “Ousted Big Brother contestant Sada Walkington now wants to be a TV presenter—and she claims to have had an offer already.”
For me, Big Brother is more entertaining if, instead of watching it yourself, you observe other people watching it. Apparently normal people watching apparently normal people. Maybe the uneasy spin-off from “reality” game-shows will be people watching people watching people—where twelve contestants are locked in a house and made to watch people locked in a house watching people who are… Does this downward spiral beckon us to the point where some company will supply the infrastructure to allow us all to watch each other watching each other? Its not such a ridiculous idea, you know. Look at the supposed “weblog community”.
Many parallels—few conclusions.
